Over 110 years of experience
The roots of YIT Corporation date back to 1912, a time when Finland was being built into a functioning society in demanding northern conditions.
From the very beginning, at the core of our work has been the very same goal: to build environments that withstand time, challenging weather conditions, and life itself. Homes, cities and infrastructure that function in people’s changing everyday lives.
Since the 1920s, YIT has been involved in building Finnish cities and their basic structures, such as water supply systems that enabled modern everyday life. Over the decades, the company has grown and renewed itself, combining expertise from different fields.
The company’s journey has progressed from construction exports in the 1980s to stock exchange listing in the 1990s, and internationalisation in the 2000s.
