For six years in a row, we have asked citizens what kind of urban environment they like and how cities should be developed. The Sustainable Urban Environments Barometer gathers citizens' views on what makes a comfortable and safe urban environment. In the survey, city dwellers give their views on the different options for their home, urban environment, mobility and working environment.

The barometer is aimed at residents of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Jyväskylä and Kuopio. The survey was carried out at the turn of September and October, with a total of 1 058 + 354 respondents (separate sample of office workers). The data represent the population aged 18-80 in the cities by gender and age. The 2023 Barometer was conducted for the sixth time. The survey was conducted for YIT by Prior Konsultointi Oy.
